Ioulida -the capital of Kea- is located 5 Km away from Korissia, the port of the island, and is built in the place where the ancient city of Iulis used to be more than two and a half thousand years ago. Full of tradinional and modern cafeterias and taverns as well as a museum and countless sightseeings, Ioulida is a traditional village, which is as picturesque as it gets, and admittedly one of the most beatiful villages of the Aegean islands. Its eblem is the famous ancient lion, a sclupture that decorates the village since ancient times.
