Around 30 years ago the village was deserted Some artists discovered this village and rebuilt a lot of its ruins, thus creating an authentic and artistic atmosphere. Luckily unlike other places in the world it was kept like this and the village still has this rural non touristic artistic and authentic atmosphere over it. With narrow streets and whitewashed houses, that form a labyrinth and all leading to the main square of Lahania where there is a traditional restaurant and the local church along with its famous priest papa yiorgos who owns the restaurant on the main street of Lahania. If you really crave the feeling of the hours slowly ticking away in a relaxed and beautiful location, then Lahania is the place to be.
