There are daily cruises departing from Kastelli's port (7 km) for Gramvousa, where you can find the old Venetian fortress, and the breathtaking exotic beach of Balos (Tigani bay, tropic water lagoon with white-pink sand).
Just 15 km to the north west you can visit Falasarna, a long white-sand beach and an important archaeological site (ancient Falasarna). The area is a popular tourist destination.

Towards the same direction and just a few kilometres away we can find Chrisoskalitisa Monastery (celebrations on August 15th), built on a rocky hill above.Don't forget to visit Elafonisi, where you can find a unique pink sandy beach and a cedar forest (45 km).
