Villa Sendal is a modern contemporary villa located on a hillside in Chavgas/ Plaka, offering spectacular views to Elounda Bay and the famous island of Spinalonga .
A luxurious air conditioned residence that extends on three levels, covering an area of 450 sqm, its architectural design sympathetically blends with the area’s landscape; local grey stone of Lassithi is used in the external areas, which combined with the mature planting, provides a stylish contemporary feel. Internally, wooden floors in the bedrooms, contemporary furniture and art add a tone of warmth and luxury to the villa.
The villa is located just a five minute drive from the beaches and restaurants of the traditional fishing village of Plaka and 10 minutes from Elounda with its lively restaurants and bars. The villa is conveniently set in an elevated position on a quiet hillside with a few villas, which guarantees privacy and stunning panoramic views across the Aegean Sea, Spinalonga island and the Cretan landscape.
Villa Sendal has six generous air conditioned Double Bedrooms, each with ensuite facilities and rain shower, providing luxurious accommodation for up to 12 guests.
Three bedrooms are on the upper floor, two on the lower floor and there is a separate annex. Each bedroom is individually appointed with stylish furnishings, private ensuite facilities, hair dryer and scales.
Four bedrooms have king sized beds, with the two lower floor bedrooms providing two single beds each, which can be combined into king sized beds upon requests. All bedrooms have hard wood floors and built in wardrobes.
The three upstairs bedrooms consist of a master & junior suite with stunning views towards the Aegean Sea and the island of Spinalonga. The third bedroom looks onto the villa’s inner courtyard.
The two lower floor bedrooms also enjoy the stunning views towards the Aegean Sea and the island of Spinalonga and have glass sliding doors onto a secluded terrace with Italian designed seating.
The annex provides a cosy retreat, with direct access to the villa’s inner courtyard.
Entering the villa through the main front door, stone steps lead down from the galleried hallway into a large open plan living / dining area. The high ceilings, large glass sliding doors and breathtaking views towards the Aegean Sea and the island of Spinalonga provide a sense of calm and airiness.
A Sonos music system is provided, which guests can access via their personal smartphones / tablets using the villa wi-fi, to stream music and radio and play music from their personal device play lists.
The spacious kitchen leads off the lounge / dining area and is fully equipped with modern appliances - fan assisted oven, ceramic hob, microwave, double door fridge / freezer with ice maker, dish washer, filter coffee maker, Nespresso machine, kettle and toaster. Large glass sliding doors lead from the kitchen onto the inner courtyard with Italian designed seating and a Weber BBQ for those who enjoy char-grilling.
From the lounge, step outside from any of the four further large glass sliding doors, onto a spacious terrace with sitting / dining for up to 12 guests and immerse yourself in the breathtaking views across the infinity pool, to the Aegean Sea and the island of Spinalonga. Covered by a slatted pergola, the terrace provides welcome shade during the hot summer afternoons, ideal for relaxation day and night. However, if you prefer the sun, stone steps lead down to a separate sun terrace where you will find a selection of Italian designed sun beds, side tables and umbrellas for your relaxation.
There is a further private lower terrace, which can be accessed from the sun terrace and/ or the two downstairs bedrooms.
The large infinity pool has a salt water electrolysis system which is gentler on the skin and eyes, as chloramines are removed from the water. Steps lead down from the shaded terrace into the pool’s sparkling clear water, which includes a shallow end (depth 70 cm) suitable for smaller children. There is also an outside shower. The pool can be heated upon request, at an extra cost of EUR130/ day (payable prior to arrival).
Separate stone staircases lead off from the lounge / dining area to a cloakroom and laundry room, equipped with a washing machine, ironing board and iron.
In the other direction you reach a TV / Games room and the two lower bedrooms. The TV / Games room has a large colourful sofa and is equipped with a Samsung 65" QLED TV with satellite channels and Blue Ray Player and guests can log into their personal streaming services such as Netflix via the villa wi-fi.
The side boundaries of the villa are planted with mature flowering shrubs and trees providing both privacy and ambience to the outside space.
The villa is eco friendly, with all hot water and electricity needs generated via solar energy.
